The train is the easy part. A good rail day is mostly about the hour before and the hour after. Here is the short list we use ourselves.
Documents
Carry the ID used for the booking and keep your confirmation on your phone. If you travel with family, keep everyone’s details together.
Arrive early
Plan to reach the station with enough time to find your platform without rushing. Stations are new and well signed, but first visits always take a little longer.
Luggage and comfort
Pack light and keep a water bottle and a light layer with you; air conditioning on board can feel cool on longer rides.
The last mile
Before you leave, check how you will get from the arrival station to your final stop: a taxi, a bus connection or a friend picking you up.
